It’s A Wrap 2018!

Hey Lovelies!

Its nearing the end of another year and so I wanted to have a little reflection on all the things that have happened this year, all those exciting, emotional moments that sum up 2018.

Holidays:

This year I have been so lucky to have been able to go away with my loved ones, having the chance to explore new places and new cultures. One of my favourite holidays this year was Sri Lanka, being able to see the country both my parents were born in, to see where they grew up and even meet some of their old friends was a memory I will treasure for a long time. I don’t think I ever really appreciated Sri Lanka or my parents’ childhoods until I got to see what life was like living in such a rural country, where everything is so much simpler and the stress of a fast-paced life is non-existent. But obviously one of the main reasons I loved visiting Sri Lanka was so I could see wild elephants roaming around freely, and it is definitely something I will never forget! (I am the definition of elephant lover)

If I were to choose any other holiday this year which made 2018 for me, it would probably be Turkey. Whenever we go on holiday, we have such a long list of places we want to see and things we want to do that there isn’t really anytime to just relax, take a breather and actually feel like you’re away from the hustle and bustle of life. Turkey was probably one of the first holidays I have been on in a which made me feel like relaxed. Spending a few days doing nothing but playing in our pool, reading, walking on the beach , going to the spa and going on a boat trip was utterly blissful. It made me realise that sometime we have to get away from our lives and just be, taking in every second of stress-free tranquillity we can get.

Some other places I was lucky enough to visit were Poland and Dublin, and honestly, they were both so amazing. Dublin somehow felt very much like home, the people were lovely and the city was beautiful. Poland is definitely a place I would go back and visit, maybe explore some other cities.

Concerts:

Let’s just say that I have been to my fair share of concerts this year and here are some of my favourite memories from them.

Florence and The Machine were definitely a band I wasn’t planning to see live this year, and my god did they deliver! Florence Welch is an angel, she just glides across the stage with such elegance, there wasn’t a second of the evening where I wasn’t dancing like mad. Sam Smith is the ultimate gentleman, he was not only amazing performer with such a stunning voice but there was not one moment throughout the concert when he didn’t make the audience feel immersed.

My favourite babe, Harry styles, is probably one of my favourite artists I have seen live, and I can’t wait to see him perform again. I don’t think I can put into words how amazing it was to see him in concert, just melting my heart with his singing (and just him being himself because he is FAB). I still can’t believe I got to a chance to see Niall Horan live in concert this year, it was such an incredible evening full of singing at the top of my lungs and dancing around, I can’t wait to see him in concert again!

Mr Tom Odell, there are no words to describe how brilliant you are live! first of all, Tom Odell was the first person I have seen live on my own, and I am so glad he was the first because bloody hell that man is just incredible. George Ezra is another person I saw live this year, he had the whole crowd singing at the top of their lungs! He is absolutely amazing live and I don’t think ANYONE can make me feel so alive and that bloody happy in a concert.

I have seen both Hozier and James Bay perform live before, but seeing them again in concert this year was AMAZING! They are both such talented artists and are sensational live. S Seconds of Summer, I don’t think there are enough words to describe how incredible these lads are live, they have such an amazing stage presence.

Just a few other of my favourite concerts this year include the wonderful Irish duo, Saint Sister, those girls are literally the definition of too cool for school and are so bloody talented.  Lewis Capaldi makes such beautiful music, I could listen to him sing all the time! But OMG is that man hilarious, he will have you laughing like crazy. Finally, the beautiful Freya Ridings is one talented lady, and I am so bloody excited to hear her album next year!

I am so grateful for all the amazing things I have been able to do this year and I am so excited to see what new adventures I get up to in 2019. There’s one more post left for 2018 coming very soon and then I won’t see you guys again till next year, so I hope you all have a wonderful end to 2018 and an even more amazing start to 2019.

Love Sharuni xx
