London Fashion Week Festival

I have spent the last few days hauled up in my room with a nasty cold hoping for the snow to melt and spring to bloom. Basically can we stop having this horrible cold weather and instead some sunshine! Enough gloomy talk about the beast from the east, Instead let’s talk about my exciting adventure at London Fashion Week Festival.

The last weekend of February was London Fashion Week Festival, four days after LFW in which people can have a glimpse at what fashion week is all about and have a look at what new pieces the next season has to offer. This year, for AW18 I decided to attend the LFWF and see what all the hypes about, and let me just say it was quite exciting. This year at LFWF, Lucy Williams, a well-known British fashion blogger had chosen some of her favourite independent designers to showcase and sell some of their new pieces for AW18, the range selected by Lucy had everything from clothes to jewellery, including my favourite brand, Missoma who specialise in beautifully crafted jewellery.

I’ve never been the most fashionable person in my friendship group but I do love dressing up and splurging on accessories, so LFWF was a perfect insight into what’s trending and all the accessories you need to get your hands on. It’s probably not for everyone, but if you ever want to have a look into what fashion week may entail, then LFWF is the perfect way to experience it.

I’m not the most confident person, so finding something that makes me feel comfortable, pretty and happy is so important. So being able to walk around LFWF and find even a few pieces, even if it was jewellery, which made me feel confident and made me smile was amazing. Fashion week has always been something I’ve seen but could never immersed myself in, mainly because there are still a lot of obstacles in the way which doesn’t make it as diverse as it should be. But that doesn’t mean we’re long off, fashion as an industry is slowly but surely becoming more diverse and hopefully in the near future we’ll see all types of people walking on catwalks, no matter what they look like or what they believe.

Love Sharuni xx
